13-14 July 2013
Year by year passed, OSIS’ members also change year by year. And this is the story, when I participated the Training of Leadership for next generation of OSIS (2013-2014) inour school (Mutiara Bangsa 2) in order to regenerate the previously generation of OSIS.
This event held before the report withdrawal on Thursday, while this event held on Monday, July 13. We started the event with exercise of March. We’ve been taught by the mentors (OSIS & Teachers) firmly & toughly, taught us how to be a diligent & tough person by neatly lining up.
After exercise of March, we’ve been taught by mentors to settingtent, which is used when we went sleep at night. We learnt how to set the comfort & neat tent for ourselves to sleep.
Learning of setting tent ended, then we got games to play, the games weren’t only just ‘playing’, but it’s about leadership & togetherness. We’ve been grouped into 4 groups, which 1 group has approximately 4 and 5 participants.
Rolling of games began, I found the games so fun and I had so many lessons on playing it. After the games session ended, we built our tent at backyard of our school, we built it right on the grasses and rocks, and we built approximately 10 tents for the participants and also the mentors. I tried to made my tent comfortable and also neat, or minimal suitable for me and my 2 other friends to sleep tight when the night comes.
Tents were ready, and then mentors announced that we had recess for an hour to took a bath, this was an interesting experience because wetook bath in the school’s restroom.
As clean as a baby, we were ready to start the next session, it’s cooking. We cooked raw foods for our dinner. Some raw foods are must to be brought, it’s Jengkol and Pare.
Cooking session ended, of course we moved to the yard and dinner together right there.
After had dinner together, we went to class, and learned about ‘How to make a proper proposals’, I found it very interesting.
An hour of that training to ends, we went down to the yard again, and we must made group yell for a very few minutes, it’s just about 10 minutes. The yells made by participants were very funny and creative.
Then we got other leadership training from the leader of Mutiara Bangsa 2’s OSIS that have been graduated, we sit circumed the campfire and learned lot things from him. He’s Standy Nugraha. He gave us very interesting lessons, he also shared his experiences and problems when became the leader of OSIS in previous generation. He also ask us to give him some questions, he answered it all well.
We had so many lessons from him. After that, we’ve been ordered to have rest in order to continue our activity tomorrow morning.
Honestly, my sleep wasn’t so tight, same with my 2 other friends, they can’t sleep because it’s hot in the tent, also it’s too many mosquitos.
A long night ended, I guess it’s around 5 AM (I didn’t know what time it was because we were not allowed to bring phone, or any digital gadgets), the mentors asked us to woke up soon, because it’s the time to start the training on day two.
We started the day with interesting game, we’ve been asked to go to certain post that gave certain clue, to find another post. There were so many obstacles and also haunting tricks from the mentors because it’s still dark.
My group finished and collected the clues first before the others. Maybe we were just lucky. :D
After game session ended, we’ve been ordered to give speech in front of mentors and other participants about what we learned on this training.
The mentors grouped us into 2 groups, group one which has more participants than group two, group one contains participants which have brought their nametag, while group two not. I shocked once when the mentors became angry and blamed the group two.
I was very surprised and calmed after I knew that these all were just drama, right after that, many participants cried and all the participants of this training, successfully become new part of MB2’s OSIS. We were so happy.
After this memorable event, we got breakfast together, and after that, we got to pack our things to go home. This training was very good and useful for our own characters.
Last word, thank you for the training and I was very thankful to the mentors while this training occurs. Hope the next generation of OSIS will do their job well.
